Tutorial Staff Complete Professional Development Workshop on Teaching Methodologies and Classroom Management
Tutorial staff successfully concluded a full-day professional development workshop on Saturday, 6th June 2026, at the Maapeh Conference Hall. The event, organised by the Academic Unit in collaboration with college management, was designed to equip staff with advanced pedagogical competencies and effective strategies for managing diverse learning environments. The workshop was facilitated by Professor Cecilia Alimatu Issaka, Professor of Special and Inclusive Education at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale. Drawing on her extensive expertise in inclusive pedagogy, Professor Issaka led participants through evidence-based teaching approaches, differentiated instruction, and practical classroom management techniques suited to contemporary academic settings. "Equipping educators with the right tools is foundational to delivering quality education and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive." The workshop, which commenced at 8:00 AM, brought together all tutorial staff in a structured learning environment that blended interactive sessions, group discussions, and reflective practice. Topics covered spanned innovative teaching methodologies, inclusive education principles, and strategies for fostering productive and respectful classrooms. The initiative forms part of the institution's continuous commitment to raising academic standards and supporting staff in delivering on their educational mandate.
